How long have you been natural? 

My last relaxer was April of 2012 and Feb of 2013 I cute off all my relaxed hair

What's your hair story?  

I am a type 2 diabetic, between the medication and relaxer or the combination of them both, my hair had become dry and thin. I could see straight through it. I had lots of shedding as well.

How do you feel about your hair? 

Now that my hair is all natural, its full and thick, I am loving my natural hair. Its nice and healthy, I can put my finger through my hair and my hair covers them. I am so proud to taking care of my own hair that growing from my scalp.

What are some of your favorite products?  

Some of my fav products are TRESemmé conditioners,Cantu Shea butter hair curling cream & coconut shine and hold mist,hot grow by doctor miracles. My fave oils are tea tree oil and argan oil among others.

Describe your hair regimen  

I wash every 2 weeks, co-wash 2x a week,small twist for 2 days then I'll wear a twist out. My night routine I'll do a 2 strand twist, flat twist or pineapple method to make my style last longer.

What are your favorite hairstyles?  

My favorite hairstyles right now are two strand twist,twist out,chunky twist out, Bantu knots, puff ball and Afro.


What has been the hardest part of your natural hair journey? 

The hardest part of my natural hair journey was getting used to wearing my natural hair post big chop and learn to care for my hair without relaxers. I learnt through trial and error what my hair likes and it's gotten a lot better and I'm loving my natural hair!

What tips/suggestions do you have for other naturals/transitioners?

Be patient and learn what works for your hair. Don't buy too many products at a time. Take it slow and give your hair a chance to see if it right for your hair. Don't be afraid to wear your natural hair, let your hair breath and don't cover it with wigs and weaves. Take time to get to know your God given hair, pamper your hair and it will grow and be healthy. Watch your hair transform, its amazing, just enjoy your natural hair journey to the fullest...
